November 2005 - Daken releases new Electric Fencing Energiser

Daken have announced the release of a new Electric Fencing Energiser certain to quickly become a leader in the Australian electric fencing market. MBT100 Plus is a new electric fence energiser for large permanent agricultural electric fences.

Designed as a multi-power source energiser, the MBT100 Plus can run as either mains powered (240 V ac) or battery powered (12V dc), or if connected to both, can switch to battery should the power supply be interrupted. An additional benefit of the system is that the unit will trickle charge the battery connected to it.

Powerful, tough and safe, the energiser places a very short, very high voltage pulse on the fence live wires approximately once every second. Daken also can supply this energiser as a complete solar system, comprising solar panel, all mountings, solar regulator, lightning protection, "stock proof" box and large capacity battery, ready for action and has a range of up to 100 kms for big remote Electric Fences.

The MBT100 Plus has proven to perform through rigorous testing in Southern Queensland. In this harsh, dry outback environment the MBT100 Plus was trialled on one property over a large area of 7,500 acres through 72 km of electrified fencing. The results showed that the MBT100 PLUS was more than capable of powering this fence, with more raw power ability than most units on the market today.

The exact maximum kilometres it can energise depends on many factors, for example the earth resistance, number and spacing of wires on the fence, type of insulators, resistance of wire, leakage from vegetation, and actual fence layout.

The MBT100 Plus is a very powerful energiser (17.5 Joules stored energy). Like all Daken energisers, it meets the IEC & AS/NZ standards and is limited to 5 Joules output into 500 Ohms for safety reasons. This energiser, like all Daken energisers is 'safe' in that the pulse is too short to cause electrocution, but as with all electrical products correct installation is required. Thorough instructions are provided, but should a customer require additional information, a toll free phone service is available.
