30th June 2005 - Clark Equipment makes its presence felt in the road and construction businesses with Ingersoll Rand rollers and pavers

Clark Equipment was appointed the Australasian distributor for the Ingersoll Rand line of road development and utility equipment in July last year.

At the time, Clark Equipment Managing Director, Robert Hammond said, "Ingersoll Rand is looking to have Clark Equipment develop the sales and service of their compaction and paving equipment, as well as portable power as we have done for their Bobcat range."

"Ingersoll Rand is a worldwide leader in the provision of infrastructure equipment.
By combining the resources of both companies, Clark Equipment will be in a position to deliver greater value to its customers, and develop broader distribution markets within Australia and New Zealand," Mr Hammond said.
"The partnership will represent a significant growth area for Clark Equipment and one that complements our existing Bobcat mini-construction business. The product line will be marketed by a newly created Ingersoll Rand business unit, selling through the Clark Equipment national dealer network, and is already fully supported through our central parts warehouse in Hornsby."

Tom O'Sullivan the Clark Equipment Product Manager for IR equipment says "the orders are starting to flow" (pictured is the paver recently delivered to Emoleum in Australia) and the future looks good with plenty of government money expected to be spent on roads and infrastructure."

Jim Harris, Country Manager for Ingersoll Rand (Australia) Limited agrees that the partnership is a good strategic fit to better service the growing needs of the construction market in Australia.

"Clark Equipment's appointment further develops the partnership which began in the 1990s when Ingersoll Rand took over the worldwide Bobcat business."
"As the long-standing distributor of Bobcat, they are probably our most successful dealer, anywhere in the world, having developed the business to a dominant market position within Australasia. We believe that this success will continue with the road development products as well as the utility group businesses," Mr Harris said.
"Clark Equipment has a great name in the industry and widespread distribution networks that support their customer base," he said.
